Direct Vet Services, and particularly Dr. Karen, have been a lifesaver for Skye's health. Dr. Karen's expertise and genuine care shone through as she not only addressed Skye's health concerns but also played a pivotal role in resolving an insurance claim that was initially denied. The dedication and compassion from Dr. Karen and the entire team at Direct Vet Services make them exceptional. Skye couldn't ask for better care!
Dr. Karen and the entire DVS team provide first class veterinary care. Skye's well-being became a top priority for her, and the meticulous attention to detail in diagnosing and treating any health issues was remarkable. Beyond the medical expertise, Dr. Karen's warm demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile provided us with not just veterinary care, but a sense of assurance and trust. Thanks to Dr. Karen and the dedicated team at Direct Vet Services, Skye is not just a patient; she's part of a caring, extended family that understands the importance of pet care.
We've been coming here forever. Karen and the team have always been excellent. We recently had to put our dog down and the compassion and understanding was incredible. RIP Tsavo pig ♥
I recently found a cat walking through traffic with no collar near Laverton station and this vet was one of the only vets open at the later hours.
The staff were very understanding with my concern when I initially called, allowing me to come straight away to drop off the cat.
I called to follow up within a few days and again the staff were very compassionate and let me know where I could find the kitten if I wanted to adopt it after its needles and vacs.
I hands down appreciate their service and updates through out it all.
Felt a bit scammed. They did a number of unnecessary things that didn’t need to be done. I went with my dog as he was limping on one of his back legs.
The vet suggested that we needed to get an x-ray (Even though we could see that there was nothing wrong with his bone as he was not in excruciating pain).
Not sure why, but the vets suggested that they had to put him on anaesthesia to get an x-ray and said that while he’s under, they may be able to do a dental for him as he really needs a dental. In the estimate that they gave me, they had dental x-rays in there as the vet said that we will do the dental x-rays only if there’s something really wrong with his teeth. I was told to pick him up at 6:15 in the evening. I reached there, but couldn’t see my dog until 7.15. After which I was told that the vet is busy and she can call me to let me know how the x-rays went. That sounded absurd to me as I had paid them $1500 To find out what was wrong with his leg, and nobody was answering that for me. The lady at the reception said that the vet was busy, so if I needed to meet her, I would need to wait a bit more. However, when I asked to settle the bill while I was waiting, the vet came out to take the payment. So she was available to take the payment but wasn’t available for a consult.
I also noticed that they had done six dental x-rays. When I asked them why they had been done, she said it was just precautionary. When I finally got the consult with the vet at 7.30. She told me that she didn’t know what was wrong and he probably just needs rest along with painkillers and antibiotics.
When I asked her why an extra x-ray was done for his left leg as the pain was in his right leg ( which was about $130) she said oh that was done just to compare to the other leg. I have never heard of anyone doing an xray of a healthy body part to compare.
That sounds so absurd.
They also did blood tests for him that were never discussed with me and I had asked them to send me a copy of all the tests that I never got.
Overall, I feel they could have advised me to wait for a couple of days before actually making me spend $1500.
I also felt like a lot of stuff that was done was unnecessary and was done in order to make the maximum money from a client who was worried about his pet.
Please think twice before you say yes to any estimate with them.
Amazing girls. We found a lost dog and they went out of there way to find the owner. They did everything possible to keep him comfortable and happy. Great work ethic and genuinely cared.
Direct Vet Services have been a great support for our fur family. From yearly vaccines for our kitties, and helping us navigate end of life care for our pup, they were able to answer any and all questions we had.
Particular shoutout to Dr Karen and vet nurse Aleisha for your kindness and care.
I was charged $1000 plus to be told that they don’t really know what’s wrong with my cat. He was sent home with antibiotics and pain relief and I was told to bring him back if there was no improvement, which I will no doubt pay through the nose for. I did not get a good feeling about this place and although the girls were friendly I noticed them leaving calls on hold to attend to private conversations that were not work related. I feel like this place only cares about your money and that’s it. I had to also continually call for updates and no one was getting back to me. I cannot believe the amount of money I was charged. Feel like this place is a big scam
I want to thank vet Sarah for your wonderful job of getting my Juliet to eat after emergency surgery !
I went home knowing that she would be feeling a lot better having some food in her stomach. Thank you so much for your care and compassion she is now well on the road to recovery. Thank you to the amazing staff highly qualified Vets .
